azuree

when azuree was born a nurse, twisting her pale blonde hair around
a finger smiled and said, “this one one will drift.” you see, azuree is a
bit dandelion fluff and more than a little bit  witchbaby. unfortunately
for the poor girl, her mother never could see this. day in and day out
her mother would drag her out into the garden and together they
would dig holes. “i will plant you here!” her mother would say. but no
matter how big the hole, azuree only grew further and further. and when
the day came that not even the grandest picture window sill couldn't hold
her still, she walked calmly into her mother’s garden to wait on the east
wind to take her away. and so it did, and she’s been mostly gone ever since.

azuree was a commission from a beautiful girl who only requested:
                             "drealocks, kitty-ears, blue..."

azuree is jointed at her shoulders and hips. her dreads were painstakingly and individually handmade.
she wears a shirt of handmade paper and a skirt of satin ribbon. her necklace was strung with tiny seed beads.
